Coffee anyone?
My friends and I went to Macaroni grill and out to shop. We were going to go to a movie but with the rain and all we decided to just come home. I had to turn around in the middle of one of the roads coming home. The road was totally flooded out. Ca-ray-zy! They said 1-2 in. of rain an hour for several hours tonight. It has rained for 4 days. The dog may need flippers, a life jacket and snorkle when he goes out in the morning!lol Anyway we are lounging around and waiting for the house to float away!lol
How cute is that mug? I didn't wanna buy it so I just took a picture. How cool am I? Don't answer that!!

Just popping in....
Well my friends got here Saturday afternoon. It has been so good to see them. I haven't seen them in a year so we have been having a good time. They laugh as much as I do. Laughing is good for the soul ya know. :-) All of us took off on yesterday morning. We spent the day at the Crayola factory. It was nice to get out and the kids had fun. We stayed at the Mariott last night which was really nice. We hung out in the indoor pool and hot tub for a while last night. Today we had planned to go to a amusement park but it was pouring rain. Flood warnings are in effect everywhere it seems. So we just goofed off and went to lunch. We saw a sign on the way home for some Caves that you can walk through etc so we stopped and did that. I didn't care much for it. You had to go up these steps and it was so high up. I am freaked by heights so I wasn't thrilled. I made it fine and it was something to do. We got home and me and the girls took off to get a few groceries. I am so sleepy though. I didn't sleep a wink last night. The beds were comfy but I just let a gazillion things run through my head and then I can't sleep. Tonight will be a different story I bet. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed! Ok well I need to get back to my company but I wanted to come post. I will have pictures up in a day or 2. You are excited aren't you, aren't you? Oh and who wants a beer? Who says nothing is free?
Kevin's best friend Brian called yesterday about 5:30 to see if we wanted free tickets to see Clint Black and Dwight Yoakam. Our one babysitter already had plans as I posted yesterday. Kevin called the inlaws to see if they wanted the tickets and FIL offered up his services to babysit! We took him up on it. We don't ask them to babysit because they stay SO busy. So we appreciate him coming over to hang with the kids. The kids really loved it. I am not a huge Dwight Yoakam fan so I was rather bored sitting through his part. Clint came out and I was happy. I knew most of his songs. I actually saw him in concert about 15 years ago. He still sounds great. Our seats were really good so that was even better-free tickets+good seats! Brian is the executive produer for our local TV station so he's always getting free stuff. Close to 10 the clouds started to roll in and lightening started to flash. I told Kevin I wanted to leave. I didn't want to be stuck there in the rain with a bunch of drunks!lol So we left a little early. We had booze too but just a cup of it. It only took about 10 mins to get home and not long after we got in it started to thunder and pour rain. Glad we left when we did. Kevin and I spent the first hour of the concert people watching. I think half the people in our city don't have mirrors or friends and family with enough backbone to say "what the hell are you wearing(or NOT wearing)?! There were big, sweaty, hairy guys with no shirts. I told Kevin to tell them we'd pay them to put a shirt on!LMAO I won't even talk about what the women were wearing! WHOA! So anyway when we got home Claire was in bed sleeping and we put Brenden to bed when we got home. Then we went to bed an I'll end the story there!;-)
Oh and the picture above is not by me. I found it online and it is from last night's concert. You know I HAD to have a picture up!

My new bedding!
Kevin and I ran out to Pottery Barn yesterday evening and got new bedding. We are going to hopefully be painting our bedroom in a couple weeks. Not totally sure but I think a butterscotchy color or something. We bought a duvet cover and shams. The duvet will go on my nice snuggly down comforter. I am so excited and I LOVE what we got. Kevin liked it too of course. We also got a set of sheets as well. I have a few sheet sets that will match it but this was on sale and too good of a deal to pass up. I love 300 TC sheets. They are so soft! I will wash it all soon and I can't wait to get it on the bed. I will make sure to post pics. Here is a pic from Pottery Barn though....What color do you think we should paint our room? I am very open for suggestions!

Nine Years!
Today has been 9 years since Kevin and I first met! Time sure flies when you are having fun. I wasn't even looking and he comes up and introduces himself. He said he saw me when I first walked into the room (at church) and he saw I had no ring on my left finger. Well he told me that later. I remember when I first laid eyes on him. I was speechless, he was GORGEOUS! I was at the end of a relationship that I was not happy in. It was a tough transition but the best one I ever made. Kev treated me like I was the only girl in the world and he still does. We are just so into each other. We match perfectly and balance each other out as well. (I do have o say the 1st year of marriage wasn't all roses!lol) God definitely knows what he is doing. My family adores him and his family loves me just as much as we do them. We have a wonderful life together and I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with him. When I first met Kevin I had just moved into town. Matter of fact the night I met him at church almost didn't happen. I didn't love the church my parents were going to and my mom talked me into trying it just one more time. So glad I did! Kevin had said he'd show me around town since I said how boring it is to be stuck at home not knowing what was around. A few days after our first meeting he got my number from a friend (the first friend I made) and called me. He wanted to show me around town so I said sure! He picks me up and we pull into the local airport. I was going huh? He said let's go in for a minute. We went to a hanger and he picks up some headphones and throws one to me to put on. When he says show me around town he meant it! He took me flying!!!(his friend was a pilot) even showed me my house. I was scared but in awe. That is one day I'll never forget. Well the rest as they say is history! I love you baby!! Thanks for 9 years of magic!!Oh and on to a little surprise he tried to pull, When he got home yesterday he put his cellphone on the kitchen counter, It rang and I went to look at it and Kev came barreling down the stairs. It was my friend Karen. I figured she had gotten our cell #'s mixed up. She has them both because she babysits alot. Kevin had called her earlier and was asking her to babysit tonight so he could surprise me with dinner out. She of course has plans already but hey the effort scored him even more points with me! *SIGH* What a man!

Holy Crap!
Well I'm up now! About 15 minutes ago our smoke alarm in the upstairs landing started BLARING! Kevin and I jumped about 2 feet out of bed. I ran straight for the kids room's and kev was turning on lights. It was a false alarm. All the FA's are hard wired and he thinks dust or maybe a spider went across it. Scared the hell out of me! It also made me realize we need to wear more to bed! I was thinking gosh what if I had had to run outside in what I have on. Our neighbors would have really gotten an eye full!

Wow! What a busy weekend we had again! Saturday my sister and her family came in. They stayed the night with us on their way to S.C from Maine. So we had 11 people in all at our house! It was busy but fun. The kids all played and us adults just had a few brews and sat and talked and laughed. Too bad they could'nt have stayed longer! My best friend and her sister(she's a close friend too) are coming in this coming Saturday. They are staying for the week and I am thrilled!! Yesterday was nice. Kevin and Brenden went to see "Cars". They both really liked it. We dropped in to see FIL for a little while yesterday evening. We got home about 7:30 and the kids were in bed by 8! They were both big PIA's by evening. I think it was the late hours they kept Saturday night. We let them stay up late to play with their cousins. It was hard as hell yesterday not being able to call my dad etc... I was teary a few times but I just didn't have the energy to cry. I am glad the 1st FD without him is over but I know next year will still be hard. God I miss him!:-(So anyway it was a pretty nice weekend and now I just have to work on getting the house clean again for Saturday!:-)

Britney, Britney, Britney!
What happened to her?!Britney Spears did an interview with Matt Lauer on Dateline last night. Yes I was sucked in and watched it! I thought she would redeem herself and let us know what she was "really thinking". She just came off as blaming everyone but herself and she sounded just dumb. She was wearing horrible clothes and was chomping on gum. Her hair looked like she didn't really even brush it. I do have to say I kinda felt sorry for her when she was crying. I mean it is hard being a parent. Now of course I would never not buckle my kids in but when they mentioned her almost falling, well that was silly. Accidents happen. When Brenden was a baby I smacked his head on my headboard when I was going to sit and nurse him. He cried for a couple seconds and was fine. I felt worse than he did I think! She doesn't like all the limelight on her and her family. Well I hardley see anything about Katie Holmes. Take some lessons from her. Oh wait, Tom Cruise may have her locked away somewhere! I was just disappointed in her. I thought I'd see it and start liking her but nope didn't happen. Oh well, she's just a celebrity. Her life will go on whether I like her or not!
Did anyone see Matt's shoes? He had on no socks! YUCK YUCK. Can we say toe cheese?!

Thursday...
Well yesterday I met with some of the mom's and their kid's from church. We went to a local park to let the kid's play. We had a nice time. Claire got kinda cranky before we left but she was alright. After we left we met Kevin for lunch. Last night we went to the mall so the guys could get haircuts. We also had to return some shorts of Kevin's to JCPENNY. I grabbed a Carmel Latte' which was really good as usual. We had to run to Mac Grill to get a gift card and Kevin brought out a loaf of the bread they serve just for me. He just told them his wife loves it and asked if he could buy one. They just gave it to him. He scored MAJOR points with that one. He rocks!
So anyway not sure what's up for today. Just hanging out I suppose!This is from the park yesterday.......

I hate coming up with lame titles!
So kids are still sleeping! That totally thrills me! i slept in till 8. Kev and I didn't go to bed till midnight or so. Anyway after dinner last night we went to Maggie Moo's. They have pretty good ice cream and I had a coupon! WOOHOO! We then went over to Panera Bread and got bagels and cream cheese. It is SO good. I actually just had one. YUM! Next to Panera's is the liquor store so I got a bottle of Cabernet. Red wine is my favorite! Wasn't that exciting? So today we are just chillin and I may even do a little housework today. *sigh*

Monday again....
We had a pretty busy weekend! Saturday Kev took Brenden out for breakfast while Claire and I slept in. I think we both slept till 10! I can't tell you when I did that last. It was REALLY nice!:-)We went to the mall as well. I had to get new brown sandals and Brenden needed new swim trunks and I knew the Gap had some on sale. Then Saturday evening we decided to go to Sonic. I just love their Onion Rings. I could eat them everyday I swear! Sunday we skipped church and went to a VW car show. It was so nice outside so it was a good day for a car show. I think we got in about 3 yesterday from that. We all were zapped and laid down for a nap. Well actually Brenden laid on the couch and played his gameboy(he HATES naps, wait till he's 16!!). Around 7 we took them to a park close by to let them play. We got the kids in bed about 9 and Kev and I just passed out. It'll be nice just lounging around at home today although I do have some laundry and a few other things to do! *sigh*
So anyway here is one of the VW's we were lusting over yesterday....Oh La La

TGIF!
Man, this week went by really fast!! Yesterday the kid's were driving me batty(maybe it was my PMS) but I had to get out for a bit. When Kev got home I called my friend Karen and we took off to Target. I had to get some stuff so it was the perfect place. They also have a Starbucks inside so I just LURVE it! I needed a new Curling Iron. The other one I had since I was 18! It sure lasted a long time! I grabbed a few other little things as well. In their $1 section they had Napoleon Dynamite stuff. That movie is so funny. One of the magnet's says "I like your sleeves, They're real big". Is that flippin sweet or what?! I just love Target.Yes, It is a sick obsession! So I need to go pull out the pork loin to thaw for dinner. I'm gonna grill that sucker! Have a great FRIDAY!!!*I know other's don't feel the same about Target but please don't burst my bubble!!*

Just adding this one of them in action fighting over the vaccum. Brenden was playing with it and Claire figures she should have it since it's hers I suppose. Brenden gave it up when I mentioned snack time!

I have been staying up WAY to late and even though I say I am going to bed early tonight, It'll probably be around midnight again! I also have a cold or something. I just feel a little on the BLAH side. When Kev got home yesterday we took the kids to one of the local parks to feed the ducks. The weather was nice and it was nice just to get out. I was ready to lock the kids in their rooms yesterday!lol So last night Kevin and I watched another movie. Since all the shows are on break for the summer, we'll be working Netflix overtime! We watched "War of the worlds" with Tom Cruise. It was alright. I also have to say that yes even thought TC may be a freakazoid, he's still a really good actor. This is purely my opinion though....DOH! Ok off to get another cup of Java! TA-TA

Busy Busy....
We had such a busy weekend! Saturday evening we went to the neighborhood cookout. Now that was fun! Kev took the kids home around 9 or so and I stayed till about midnight. We were all saying we should do this every month!lol Sunday was church, then I went to a "purse party". Kev went over a friend's house later and I took the kids to visit with the inlaws. We went to the playground next to their place and played for about an hour. We all got home about 8 and the kids got their baths and then Kev and I settled in to watch "Cheaper by the dozen 2". It was better than I had anticipated. Tonight we'll be watching "War of the worlds". Oh yeah! Also on Saturday I went and got my hair cut. It was really long and I always just wore a ponytail to get it out of my face. Well now it just touches my shoulders and is layered AND I got some highlights. I really really like it though! It's a big change. So anyway, not much else happening. I have laundry to fold and put away and I need to thaw something for dinner! Ok so last night Kevin and I watched "The Family Stone". A girlfriend told me about it and said it was pretty good. She was right! It was funny, had romance and at times we both were teary. We definitely recommend it!
Also we had one heck of a thunderstorm last night! I fell asleep about 15 till midnight. Kevin got up right at midnight to let the dog out. He said he opened the back door to the deck and was like What in the world?!! We left the deck patio umbrella open on the table. Our deck table sits 6 and is glass. It's decently heavy. The wind has picked up the TABLE and it was in the yard! The umbrella had a couple bent spokes but Kev thinks he can fix that. The table wasn't broken. That was what shocked me. I had a potted plant sitting on the table and the plant was laying on the deck and the pot was in the yard. It was just wild! Of course it was dark so we went out(Kev in his boxers and me in my nightie) and got it and put it back on the deck. Of course after we got it back on the deck I said "Ah Man, I should have taken a pic! Damn it!"lol Anyway just hanging out today. There is a carnival at the church down the street from us so if the rain holds out we will go tonight and if not we will just go tomorrow. Have a great friday everyone!

I have heard that you need to stay till after the credits roll because something else happens. I think Kevin and I will go see this soon. This normally isn't my kind of movie but since Hugh Jackman is my object of lust I think I won't mind so much!:-)
